Hampton Bay Devron II Ceiling Fan Installation Manual

Hampton Bay Devron II Ceiling Fan

To begin the installation of your Hampton Bay Devron II Ceiling Fan, ensure that you have all the necessary tools and materials at hand. Start by turning off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box to avoid any electrical hazards. Carefully unpack the fan and check that all parts are included as per the parts list in the instruction manual. You will need a Phillips and flathead screwdriver, a wrench, a ladder, wire cutters/strippers, and electrical tape.

Begin the installation by assembling the fan motor and downrod. Attach the downrod to the motor housing using the provided screws and washers, ensuring they are securely tightened. Next, prepare the mounting bracket by attaching it to the ceiling box using the screws provided. Make sure the bracket is firmly attached and can support the fan’s weight.

Lift the fan motor assembly and hang it on the mounting bracket, allowing it to rest while you make the necessary electrical connections. Connect the fan wiring to the house wiring according to the color codes: black to black (or hot), white to white (neutral), and green or bare copper to the grounding wire. Use wire nuts to secure these connections and wrap them with electrical tape for added safety.

Once the wiring connections are made, carefully tuck the wires into the electrical box and secure the fan canopy to the mounting bracket using the screws provided. This will cover the electrical connections and give the fan a finished look. Proceed by attaching the fan blades to the blade arms using the screws provided, ensuring they are securely fastened.

After all the blades are attached, secure the blade arms to the motor housing. Make sure each blade is evenly spaced and level to prevent wobbling. Install the light kit (if included) by connecting the wires from the light kit to the fan motor wires, matching the color codes. Secure the light kit to the fan using the provided screws.

Install the light bulbs and attach the glass shades or light covers as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the bulbs are of the correct wattage as specified in the manual. If your fan includes a remote control, follow the instructions to install the remote receiver in the fan canopy and pair the remote with the receiver.

With the fan fully assembled, turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the fan by turning it on and cycling through the different speeds. Check for any unusual noises or wobbling. If the fan wobbles, use the balancing kit included with the fan to balance the blades. Follow the instructions provided in the balancing kit for best results.

Finally, clean up your workspace and ensure all tools and materials are put away. Enjoy the comfort and style of your newly installed Hampton Bay Devron II Ceiling Fan. Regular maintenance, such as dusting the blades and checking for loose screws, will keep your fan operating smoothly for years to come.
